Plot Outline:
A mentally retarded man fights for custody of his 7-year-old daughter, and in the process teaches his cold-hearted lawyer the value of love and family.

I meant your disability.
The fact that you're retarded -- that's not the right word.

= run away with someone
     B: -Objection. Kidnapped? -Sustained.
= I don't agree

    B:I have to be on the stand at 2:00.
= ready to say what I think in court

14. I'm going as fast as I can. I don't have all day.
= I don't have time / don't take too long

15. A: Don't you ever think it would be better for Lucy if she lived with
a permanent ( = forever ) foster family ( = not true family but a family who will look after you ) ...and you could visit whenever you wanted?

Sam: No, I don't think that's a very good idea, see.Because the Fosters, they
don't Know Lucy.. And I know Lucy because I'm her father.So,
I think if they want to see her...then the Fosters can come over to our
house to visit her.

16. And I'm very firm on this. I'm very firm on this idea.
= I will not change my mind

17. because Lucy belongs with me. = Lucy is mine / my daughter
