Plot Outline:
Benjamin Barry (McConaughey) is an advertising executive and ladies' man who, to win a big campaign, bets that he can make a woman fall in love with him in 10 days. Andie Anderson (Hudson) covers the "How To" beat for "Composure" magazine and is assigned to write an article on "How to Lose a Guy in 10 days." They meet in a bar shortly after the bet is made.

Useful Expressions

= no purpose - why should I live? / what is there for me to do? / life is terrible

2.Get up. I'm not going to let you lose your job on top of everything else.
= so many other things are wrong ,so get going and keep your job , it's important!

= just grea t/ marvelous / exciting

5. You are never going to pull this off.
= You won't be able to do this.

6. Before the ten days are up,l'm going to have this guy running for his life.
= finished / are over

7. l'm in the middle of a meeting.
= now I am having a meeting

Cf) 1. Stop disturbing me! I am in the middle of a conversation.
2. I'll call you later! I am in the middle of motorway

8. What's on your mind?
= Wht are you thinking / what are you planning

9. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
= an opportunity like this only comes only once in your life

Eg) this is a once in a life time opportunity. Just grab it!

10. it's not going to crack this guy.
= makes someone angry / spill the beans

Cf) He really cracks me!

11. You drove me half insane.
= made me quite angry

Eg) drive someone angry / insane / crazy / mad / nuts / really cross

12. Pull over, we need to talk.
= stop driving / stop the car

Eg) 1. Now pull over the cab.
2. Can you please pull the car over?
