Plot Outline:
Adam Sandler plays a man who falls in love with Lucy (Drew Barrymore), a woman with short-term memory loss. Therefore, Lucy never remembers Sandler and this proves to be a pain for him as he always has to gain her back every day.

Useful Expressions

Weird = strange, unusual, unnatural
Kind of + adjective = when you describe something, but you are not sure
E.g. It was kind of strange to see John again.

= It was just a short period of enjoyment.

= one thing which can be chosen from the possibilities.

To stare = to look for a long time with the eyes wide open

To apologise = to say sorry
Nasty = bad or very unpleasant

E.g. My friend helped me a lot with my homework. I appreciate his help.

22. That was pathetic.
= That was sad to see.

23. Your condition is stable. But most likely permanent.
Stable = fixed, not likely to change
Permanent = lasting for a long time or forever
