Trip
to Kelly Tarlton's Underwater World updated
28th Sept 2004

The students and teachers had
a great day at Kelly Tarton's Underwater World, which offers
a 'close-up' interactive experience of the Southern Oceans,
including King & Gentoo penguins, sharks and 1,000's of
fish. Let us here what the teacher and students say ...

Ten
of us from St George had a great time at Kelly Tarlton's Underwater
World the other day. It's amazing what they do there:
They are building a brand new area to display their collection
of Rays, beautiful fish that swim like birds underwater. |
They
make over 40,000 kg of ice every day, just for the penguins. |
You
go on a train ride around many of the displays, even get to
feel what it would feel like to be in a snowstorm. |
Then,
at the end, you turn into one of the exhibits as you go around
on a conveyor belt and all the fish get to look at you! |
Sometimes
you are no more than 5 cm away from the jaws of a shark. |

All of us had a great
day out and we would all like to say a special thank you to
Petal, who organised the whole day! Afterwards, we all went
to Mission Bay and played on the beach. it was a cool day!
"Too small!"
(shelley, China) [...she
wanted MORE!]
"It was good!"
(Erena, Korea) [speaks
for itself]
soon, we are planning
a trip to SheepWorld - come with us!
