About New Zealand

New Zealand is a beautiful country composed of two main islands. There is abundant beauty and wondrous diversity in scenery, lifestyle and culture.

It is not dissimilar to the United Kingdom. From rolling green farmlands to barren volcanic desert areas, from golden beaches with clear blue water to majestic snow covered mountains. Its awesome landscapes, lush forests, amazing wildlife and pleasant climate make it a haven for many outdoor activitie s and sports.

The majority of New Zealand’s 4 million inhabitants are mostly concentrated in the North Island. The majority of New Zealanders are of British or European decent, with approximately 12% of the population having Maori or Pacific Island origins. Other nationalities who are well established include Chinese, Dutch, Indian, Cambodian and Yugoslav.

New Zealand society is diverse and multicultural. The honesty, friendliness, and openness of New Zealanders (also known as kiwis) will impress you. Kiwis have a unique and dynamic culture, with European, Maori, Pacific and Asian influences. It’s a culture that celebrates the many different lifestyles we live, and the stories we have to tell.
