AUCKLAND

St George is in a well known, high profile off Queen Street, the main Auckland thoroughfare. Auckland Central Library is five minutes walk and the art gallery is a block away. Nearbyare the University of Auckland (UoA) and Auckland University of Technology (AUT), two of New Zealand's best-known universities.

St George is also handy to the Auckland shopping precinct and the excellent array of restaurants and cafes to be found in this metropolis. It is within easy reach of most of the backpacker centers in the city.

Queen Street extends to the beautiful Waitemata Harbour with its ships, ferries and yachting marina which plays host to yachts and crusing liners from all around the world. Within easy reach are many good beaches and parks as well. Day and night, Auckland is a thriving city that never sleeps.
