Microsoft Advanced Academy

In order to allow students to gain maximum benefit from their course, St George is also a Microsoft Advanced Academy, which allows students access to all Microsoft training resources and software leading to Microsoft Certification.

Microsoft Certification is the International qualification for those wishing to design, build, configure and maintain Microsoft networks based on Microsoft Server 2003, or Microsoft Server 2008, work on workstations, database administration, Web/Windows development, and specialized business applications.

During the course, students will be specifically instructed on

  1. Workstations (XP, Vista, etc)
  2. Networking (Server 2003 and 2008)
  3. Applications (Word, Access, Outlook, Powerpoint, Excel, etc)

Students will in most cases be given their own software to work with. As well, St George provides practice servers and networks for networking instruction.

For more information on these learning pathways, and information regarding their impact on employment, go to:https://www.microsoft.com/learning/education/roadmap/default.mspx

For the pathways available, click HERE

Students are thus allowed the opportunity to reach very high levels of expertise, and gain two qualifications while in their time of study. The employment benefits are obvious. The qualifications students may gain would be:

  • MCSE
  • MCSA
  • MCITP
  • MCDST

While St George teaches the material included in the Microsoft certification, it is the student’s responsibility and cost to arrange for testing.

The benefits students receive from our association with Microsoft includes:

  1. Free software (includes virtually all Microsoft software)
  2. Free access to the Microsoft e-learning environment, so that learning may continue at home
  3. Tech support – access to discuss issues with Microsoft technical support experts.
  4. Microsoft E-reference library, with over 500 books on-line
  5. Reduced costs for some certification tests

(See Microsoft Academy Benefits for a full list)

All of these advantages are included in the Diploma tuition fees.
