National Certificate in Business Administration (Level 4)

 

Programme Summary

Advanced level programme for students who want a career in business administration with a view to obtaining a supervisory role.

This programme in business administration will provide students with the skills demanded in today's dynamic business envornment. The programme encompasses all aspects of Information Technology, communication and administrative systems.

 

Aim of the course

  • This national certificate is designed to:

    • recognise a broad range of business administration knowledge and skills required of administrators while allowing them to select credit to match their business administration and information technology related positions; and
    • provide recognition of an advanced level of competence, knowledge and skills to permit and assist a pathway to further education and training.

Length of the Course

  • 18 weeks with 25 hours tuition per week (Monday-Friday) and a further 10 hours of self-study each week.

  • Office automation system
  • Payroll and related employment records
  • Accounting and financial management
  • Computer sytems
  • Communication / Presentation skills
  • Problem solving strategies
  • Service core skills

 

Entry requirements

  • Age 18 or over
  • Completion of Form 5 in New Zealand; or
  • Completion of 2nd year in Senior High School overseas
  • Basig knowedge of IT,and MS office
  • If English is not your first language, basic conversation skills are required. We can offer the language course to improve your English.
  • The National Certificate in business administration Level 3.or You can provide evidence of competency at this level to the Programme Leader

 

Qualifications you can gain

  • National Certificate in Business Administration Level 4 ( The certificate will display the logos of NZQA and the accredited providers.

 

Where will this take you?

A Certificate in Business Administration is excellent preparation for employment as a wordprocessor operator, receptionist, administrative assistant, personal assistant or secretary in any kind of business or industry. Alternatively you could be self-employed, running your own office services business. Those who graduate, and want to work, always get snapped up quickly.
Alternatively you can continue to further study with a range of options.

 

Full Time / Part Time

The course is offered full time, 10 am to 1 pm and 1.30 pm to 3.30 pm each day. If 8 or more students wish to study evenings and / or weekends, this can be arranged!
