St George Computing Programme

Overview

St George has one of the strongest, and best-supported Computing programmes available.

• St George Diploma in Computing level 7

all within the Computer Support strand.

This course is two year in length.

The courses are aimed at students wishing to follow a career in the computer industry as general support personnel, both hardware and software, with an emphasis in computer networking and support. Details of each level are provided below. As well as these National programmes, St George, to ensure their students are readily employable, also provide free of charge training in Microsoft Certification, and provide the testing facilities for a host of internationally and industry-recognised computer qualifications, such as CISCO, Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE), and many, many others.

Students will be instructed in Microsoft, Sun and other multi-platform operating systems. They will also receive instruction in Microsoft applications.

Students are not required to sit the Microsoft examinations, and failure to do so does not change whether or not they pass the National Diploma in Computing courses.In the same way, a student may pass the Microsoft examinations, and fail the National Diploma assessments – and be recognised by the computer industry as an excellent support person.
