Restaurant
Dialogue: Part 1
Emily: Hey Simon, so this is your favourite restaurant. Thanks for bringing me here; I hear the food here is amazing.
Simon: Sweet as , I usually come here after class on Thursdays. It’s just up the road. And it’s not too expensive.
Emily: And it’s BYO.
Simon: Which is good, because I brought along a bottle of wine for a birthday treat.
Emily: Merlot, my favourite. Thanks Simon.
Simon : No worries.
Dialogue: Part 2
After the food has arrived…
Emily: Hang on, what’s that on my pizza…it looks like meat. This isn’t a vegetarian pizza! Ew…there’s a hair on it too!
Simon: You’ve got to be kidding. My ravioli is cold too! I think we should complain. Sorry Emily – the food’s usually really good here.
Emily: It’s not your fault. But I definitely ordered a vegetarian pizza. Good thing I didn’t eat any of it! Shall we demand our money back?
Simon: Emily, don’t make a scene. Let’s just tell them we’re not happy with the food.
Emily: Ok.
Dialogue: Part 3
Later when we go up to the counter…
Emily (to waiter): Look, we’re not happy with this food. I ordered a vegetarian pizza, and look at this… pepperoni. And there’s a hair in it – disgusting!
Simon: And my ravioli’s cold. I come here nearly every Thursday and the food’s usually great, but I can’t eat this.
Later on
Simon: At least he was cook about giving us a refund, and he apologised for the mixup in the kitchen.
Emily: Yeah, we wouldn’t really have had time to wait around for him to remake the food, but it’s good that he offered. Don’t know if I’ll use my voucher for a free pizza next time though. I have a feeling there won’t be a next time.
Simon: C’mon Emily, you must be starving. Why don’t you come round to my place and I’ll cook you dinner. I’ve got all the ingredients for vegetarian pasta, your favourite.
Emily: Sounds much better than that restaurant! |
